Even though Mike Staff Productions offer three distinctly different wedding services, we couldn't agree more. That's why we would never consider sending one of our award-winning DJs to photograph your wedding. However, we will ask one of our award-winning photographers!

Disk Jockeys/Entertainment
The wedding DJ & Entertainment division of Mike Staff Productions was founded by our company's name sake, Mike Staff. Enjoying 14 years as a radio personality on 101 WRIF, Mike is well known for his hip style and artist interviews; having had on-air conversations with the world's top rock bands and celebrities. In fact, his interviews have aired on MTV and VH-1.
Mike Staff has taken his professional skills and know-how, combined them with his experiences personally DJing over 1200 wedding receptions , and fine-tuned a formula for wedding success that less than 1% of wedding Disc Jockeys understand.
He starts by personally recruiting the Detroit area's very best wedding DJs; each having a minimum of 3-5 years experience DJing weddings - not house parties or bars, but weddings!
And that's just the beginning. Because there are so many details that go into creating spectacular wedding reception entertainment, Mike personally certifies each DJ according to a comprehensive 45-point process that covers everything so you have absolutely NO RISK of your wedding reception bombing!

Photography
Wally Spice (her real name!) is Director of Photography at Mike Staff Productions. Wally is one of the most respected wedding photographers in the entire country; having revolutionized the "photo-journalistic" approach to wedding photography in the early 1990's. Wally is a sought after expert in the field of creative wedding photography and album design; often being interviewed by local and national bridal publications such as Michigan Bride and The Knot.
Wally is also highly regarded by fellow Detroit area wedding photographers, who voted her 2007-2008 President of the Detroit Professional Photographers Association; Michigan's most active and vibrant photography organization. Wally's dedication to learning (and teaching) the latest trends in wedding photography and cutting edge album design is unprecedented. One look at the amazing work of Wally Spice and you'll instantly know why so many other wedding photographers try to emulate her.
Each of our gifted photographers has been hand-picked and personally mentored by Wally. Her standards are very high; insisting that each lead photographer have a minimum of 10 years experience photographing weddings. Additionally, they must be hungry for continuous learning and growth. And finally, they must love the entire wedding experience … and be able to gracefully capture the emotional undercurrents of the day.
Videography
The first thing we did when forming our videography department was to hire one of the most accomplished videographers in the wedding industry, Jason Chevatewa.
As Director of Creative Services for Mike Staff Productions, Jason leads our team of gifted video professionals. Jason has been a professional wedding producer & videographer for over 15 years and has produced over 1000 wedding videos; in addition to producing and editing live television events and industrial & commercial projects. Jason's creativity and willingness to implement new ideas and technology into his work has made him one of the most respected figures in the videography business. His peers frequently call on Jason for technical advice, creative ideas and a fresh perspective.
Jason's longevity and experience in filming weddings in southeast Michigan gives him an intimate working knowledge of the various churches, reception halls and in-between spots in the area. You will find tremendous value in this expertise. Even the smallest details will be noticed both while shooting and editing your wedding video.
The other members of our video team are well accomplished, too. Their professional experiences include running camera for the Superbowl, World Series, NHL & NBA Championship games (the "Big 4" in sports broadcasting); sound engineering for live national TV shows including the "Today Show" and "Oprah"; producing programming for Discovery Channel HD; and producing national commercials for major corporations. MOST IMPORTANTLY, though, all of our team members are experts at shooting & editing wedding videos with Mike Staff Productions unique style and creativity.
